/// Photo trip Bolivia
I loved South America… when I was allowed to travel to Brazil in 2019, I knew I wanted to experience even more of South America. It’s the people who are so attractive to me with their often positive attitude to life and friendly nature towards strangers. Last September it happened again. Bolivia was my travel destination this time.
Together with nine other photography enthusiasts, we traveled via Sao Paulo in Brazil and then took the plane to Santa Cruz. Landed and was immediately impressed because it felt incredibly good again to have a big adventure ahead of us. Most people probably know that Bolivia has an incredibly diverse nature. It is important to mention that the country lies at over 1,500 meters above sea level; the highest peaks of the Andes in Bolivia reach up to around 6,500 meters, which also brings with it climatic challenges.
This picture was taken in La Paz, at Plaza Murillo, which is also the main square in La Paz, the seat of Bolivia’s government. It is the highest administrative capital in the world and is located in the Altiplano plateau of the Andes at more than 3,500 m above sea level. Plaza Murillo is considered a meeting point for locals and visitors from all over the world. There are a number of small shops around, you can see shoe shiners offering their services to walk-in customers, as well as artists and painters presenting their works. You can also get freshly squeezed juices and snacks of all kinds everywhere. A flair that simply inspires.
